Options Dialog |

The Options Dialog window allows you to customize ABCFind's behavior to suit your personal preferences. You can access this window by pressing the
toolbar button.
The screen is split into several sections, each is detailed below.
Find Options
Use these options to specify behaviors for various aspects of finding text and displaying results in the search results windows.

Display message after Find All has completed |
Check this box to instruct ABCFind to display a message box at the end of every successful Find All operation. This message box will display the number of successful matches found. |

Protect or Remove Active Results list before new search |
When ABCFind starts a new search it will check the Active Results list and if it contains any results from a previous search then you are prompted whether or not you wish to remove these previous results or protect them by copying them to a new search results list. You can use this option to set the default action to take by selecting one of these actions from the list:

Enable search result tracking in the background |
By default, ABCFind will monitor changes to your code and will keep a track of where previous search results are located within the code. On slower machines, this may impede general system performance and so you may wish to turn this feature off. |

Include comments by default |
ABCFind will exclude commented code from its searching scope. This behavior can be overridden by an Option on the Find dialog screen however ABCFind will revert back to its default behavior every time the Visual Basic IDE is started. If you prefer ABCFind to always include comments in its search then check this box. |

Disable fade effects and animations |
ABCFind uses various fade effects and animations for its user interface. If you wish to disable these effects then check this box. |
Most Recently Used Options
The Find and Replace text boxes provide a Most Recently Used (MRU) list where you can select a previously entered value from a drop down list of choices. Using these options you can turn this behavior off or you can change the size of the MRU list.

Check this box to enable the MRU list for the 'Text to find' box in the Find Dialog window. |

Save MRU for Find In Files & Find In SourceSafe |
Check this box to enable the MRU list for the 'Text to find' box in the Find In Files and Find In SourceSafe Dialog windows. |

Maximum number of items to hold in MRU |
Use the up and down arrows to change the size of the MRU lists. |
SourceSafe Options
Use these options to modify the default SourceSafe integration.

Enable SourceSafe Integration |
Check this ox to enable the SourceSafe integration features of ABCFind. If this box is unchecked then all other options in this section will be disabled. If SourceSafe integration is not enabled then ABCFind will not be able to search SourceSafe version of files loaded in the Visual Basic IDE. However, the Find In SourceSafe feature will still be available. |

Specify SourceSafe Login |
Check this box if you wish to specify the username and password required to log in to a SourceSafe database. If this box is un-checked then the default login information will be used for SourceSafe according to your installation of Visual SourceSafe. See you SourceSafe documentation for further information. |

Username |
The username to use when logging into SourceSafe database. This field will be unavailable if the 'Specify SourceSafe Login' box is un-checked. |

Password |
The password to use when logging into SourceSafe database. This field will be unavailable if the 'Specify SourceSafe Login' box is un-checked. |

Specify Default SourceSafe Database |
Check this box if you wish to specify the default SourceSafe database to use for Find In SourceSafe operations. if this box is un-checked then the database to search will default to the current SourceSafe database, i.e. the last one that was opened by the VSS explorer. If you wish to override this behavior then you can specify the database to always default to here. |

Check for the latest version of modules before starting a Replace All operation |
When performing a Replace All operation on files loaded in the Visual Basic IDE, ABCFind can be instructed to retrieve the latest versions of any files from SourceSafe. (Files that are already checked out will be excluded from this operations). You can choose from three options: Prompt (default - always prompt you whether to perform this check), Always (always perform this check automatically) or Never (do not perform this check). |

Automatically check-out modules before replacing found matches. |
When performing a Replace All operation on files loaded in the Visual Basic IDE, ABCFind can automatically check-out the files to be changed from SourceSafe. You can choose from three options: Prompt (default - always prompt you whether to perform this check), Always (always check files out) or Never (never check-out and skip the replace operation on such files). |

Check on-line for new version of ABCFind |
Click this option to go on-line and check to see if a newer version of ABCFind is available on the Atlantic Blue web site. |
