What versions of Visual
Basic does ABCFind work with?
To integrate ABCFind into the Visual Basic
IDE (Integrated Development Environment) you can use either Visual Basic version 5 or 6. If you wish to
run ABCFind as a standalone application to search through Visual Basic

Why Do Some of
the Toolbar Button Icons Become Corrupted When ABCFind is Run
in the Visual Basic IDE?
There is a bug in the Visual Basic IDE that sometimes causes
icons of toolbar buttons that belong to Add-Ins to become corrupted. Either they appear
blank or they display the icon of a different toolbar button in the IDE.
This is a bug with the Visual Basic IDE and is beyond the control of ABCFind.
This problem only affects the display of the toolbar buttons and it does not affect their functional behaviour.

Why are there no
procedures listed in the internal code viewer's dropdown box when
viewing DHTML documents?
The functionality to parse DHTML documents has not yet
been developed for ABCFind. Therefore, it is unable to
extract procedure names from the file. This
may be fixed in
a future release.

When I install PVCS
Version Manager my SourceSafe Integration no longer
works
This is a fault that has been reported with some versions
of PVCS Version Manager. It is a fault with the installation
procedure of PVCS Version Manager that causes the SourceSafe file
ssapi.dll to become unregistered. To fix the problem, simply
reregister this file. It will be located in the binaries
folder of your SourceSafe installation. Normally this will
be C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual
Studio\Common\VSS\Win32\ssapi.dll.

Why doesn't
the Visual Basic IDE's Customize menu functionality work on the
ABCFind menus?
This is by design so that the menu options cannot be
accidentally corrupted.

How do I copy a list of Search Results to another
program such as Excel?
Select
all results that you require to be copied and then press Ctrl+C to copy these
results to the clipboard. You can then paste these results into your required application
(the way in which this is done will depend on the application but normally it can
be done by pressing Ctrl+V).

When using ABCFind as a standalone application, can I
open the code module in VB for easier viewing of the code or to
edit it?
Yes you can. You can either
open the code module itself in the Visual Basic IDE or you can
open the whole Visual Basic project. To do this, right-click
on the Search Results window and select either one of the menu
items: 'Open Module in IDE' or 'Open Project in IDE'.
Whichever you chose, the search results relating to that
module/project will be copied into the Search Results window of
the IDE.
